I was the receptionist and secretary at Abatangelo-Hason Structural Engineers and, therefore, had the pleasure of talking to Steve on the phone frequently for many years. He always made me feel like the most important person in the world. Everytime he called the office, my day immediately became a beautiful day. When he found out that I had lung cancer surgery last August, he sent me a card with a very loving note. Again, he took time out to make me feel good. And, once again he made my day beautiful.

I told Steve many times that he was "the real deal", and he certainly was. I was blessed to have known him.

I said, God I hurt. And God said, I know. I said, God I cry alot. God said , Thats why I give you tears. I said, God, I'm so depressed, and God said, Thats why I give you sunshine. I said, God, life is so hard, and God said, Thats why I give you loved ones. I said, God, my loved one died, and God said, So did mine. I said, God, it is such a loss, and God said, I saw my Son nailed to the cross. I said, God, but your loved one lives, and God said, So does yours. I said, God, where are they now, and God said, Mine is on my right and yours is in the light. I said, God it hurts, and God said I know.

We love you all so much and want you to know that we are here for you and will continue to be in the future. Uncle Steve was so special to all of us and we will all miss him. He was the closest thing to Papa that my children were able to know and love, and they will never forget him. We will mourn, but most of all we will celebrate what an amazing man the Lord shared with us for the time that we had him. Hang in there and hold on to the promise of Our Father that He will never leave us. We love you all. Hugs and Kisses.
