Stanley Walters Obituary
Walters, Stanley J. age 82, beloved husband of Irene (nee Estok), devoted father of Daniel (Cleo) Walters and Janis (Ronald) Zednick, loving grandfather of Joseph Walters, and Olivia Zednick. WWII Army Infantry 3x Purple Heart Veteran. He was very active in the American Legion for over 20 years, Past 4th District Commander and Past Commander of D/G Post #271. Chapel prayer 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2006, from the Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 10701 S. Harlem Ave., Worth, to Our Lady of the Ridge Church, Chicago Ridge, Mass 10 a.m. Visitation Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, 708-448-6000.

Stanley Walters was a past Commander of the Darius-Girenas American Legion Post 271. He served the post in many capacities and was Post Commander 1982-83. He was a great guy to be around. His wit and good humor will be sorely missed by the post members as well as the Ladies Auxiliary. He was a hard worker and problem solver. He served the D-G Post with honor and the post is a better place for his efforts. Farewell My Comrade.
