Stanley Voorhees Obituary

Stanley 'Stan' J. Voorhees, 47, of 96th Ave West, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, in Northern Indiana as a result of a semi truck accident. He was a lifelong Duluth resident and loved fishing on Lake Superior with his friends from the Gary neighborhood. Stan was an over-the-road truck driver where he had worked for Trism, Koch, Foster and currently with Anderson Trucking. He enjoyed the long hauls and was approaching two million miles of accident free driving when another truck pulled out in front of him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Elizabeth Voorhees; and stepfather, Edward Pfeffer. He is survived by his mother, Ramona Pfeffer of Superior; an uncle, Dan Voorhees and his sons, Randall and Norman; all his special friends in Gary-New Duluth. Stan will be sadly missed by all who knew him. GATHERING:noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Wednesday in Bell Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Washburn Cemetery, Washburn, Wis.
