I was saddened to read about Stanley's passing. My prayers go to Stanley, his wife Marge, and the family. Stanley and his parents lived about 3 houses from my parents and me on 56th & Marshfield. We addressed his parents as Mr & Mrs Phillips and my parents were close friends with them. Also, Stan's mom was my younger brother, Dennis', baptismal godmother. I sent a sympathy note to Stan for his wife, Marge. Don't know if he remembered me or not.

Dear Mr. Stan,
When I was a little girl you were the policeman down the block who always made me feel safe. Whenever I saw you, or just your car parked out front, I knew all was well. Please give Mrs. Stan a big hug and kiss from me! Until we meet again.

Mr. Stan,
Growing up we couldn't say Filipczak, so we started call you Mr. and Mrs. Stan. For many years I had no idea Stan was your first name. I loved going to your house to play. Some days I would sit in your kitchen talking with you and Mrs Stan like I was a grown up. We would talk about the important world events according to a little kid. When Lisa went away to college I was devastated. I was only 10 and didn't understand why my best friend didn't want to stay home and hang out with me. You and Mrs Stan still opened the door for me and let me hang out with you. Mr. Stan I love you and will miss you greatly. Until we meet again.

Where do I begin? I miss him so very much already. Stan has been a second father to me and Zig since we moved in 30 years ago. Whether it be giving us expert gardening advise, sharing a beer over the fence, or on the deck, talking old stories from days past with Zig about Gage Park HS, or farming in Wisconsin with me, Stan always had a smile and always had a generous heart. We will forever remember him, and he will always be in our hearts. Marge is waiting with open arms.
