Dear Abbott family,
Stan was a very nice guy and I always enjoyed visiting with him, usually at Bass Lake.
While I didn't know him as long as my in-laws have I do call many of his family friends.
If you can judge a person by the family they leave behind, Stan Abbott was a great man.

Jan, Tim, Dan and Amy and extended families, I am so sorry about the loss of your Dad. Take comfort in all of the great memories you have with him. Hope you can find solace in knowing his was a life well lived - he put his family first, always and was a kind, good soul and a funny, happy man - and a great dad! Dear Amy, Janet, Danny, and Tim, and the entire family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad/grandpa. The Abbotts and Valeks have been together for so long that we have been there for every major milestone from grade school to adulthood. So, of course, we are there together to grieve. Our family will miss your dad terribly. God bless all of you!
