Solveig Ruge Obituary

Ruge, Solveig "Salty" (Howe)

Age 85, passed away of heart failure on Monday, May 10, 2021 in Chicago. Survived by son David Howe, brother Curt Moe, step-children Kathy Ruge Poduslo, Steven Ruge and numerous grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband David Ruge, mother Inga Amelia Manger Moe, father Oskar Moe, step-mother Mildred Moe, sons Robert Howe, Michael Howe, Gregory Howe and William Howe, daughter in-laws Cindy Howe, Michelle Howe, Linda Howe and Kim Howe. Solveig was a long term resident of Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, more recently living at Victory Center of Galewood and Bethesda Senior Care. She was the best. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and "mother" to many others. She was a comforter for many throughout her life. Celebration of life at Dreschler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion, Oak Park, IL on Sunday, May 16 at 1:00 – 4:00, with service at 3:00 and reception to follow. Burial on Monday, May 17 at 11:00 am at Fairview Memorial Park, 900 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, IL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local Al-Anon chapter.
