Epstein, Solomon 87, beloved husband of the late Miriam Epstein (nee Rosen), loving father of Gail (Phillip) Nagle, Aviva (Allan) Rodin and Deborah Epstein, adored grandfather of Zachary Nagle and Ruth (Sacha) Nechas, Sarah, Ellen and Samuel Rodin, dear brother of the late Vivian Sloan. Services Thursday, 11 a.m. at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3760 N. Pine Grove, Chicago. Interment Westlawn. Contributions in his name may be made to American Heart Assn., Memorial & Tributes Program, Dept 77-3968, Chicago, Ill., 60678. Info. We feel grateful that we found it possible to be in Chicago at the time when we could attend the services for our dear friend. Sol and Maurie first came to know each other at the University of Illinois as undergraduates more than 65 years ago. They remained in close touch over all the time betwen then and now. We loved Sol for uis unfailing humor, his dedication to the principles of our faith and to the survival of the state of Israel but most of all because his way of life seemed to fit in perfectly with ours. He loved his family, children and grandchildren and he recognized what there is in the world that makes life sweet even in the times of greatest sadness. We will always remember him as a beloved friend.

Dear Gail, Phillip, Zach, Ruth, Sacha and family,
Our family sends you our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father/grandfather. We hope that his memory will help you get through this diffficult time. I am sorry that we can not be at the funeral, but our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Stay well. Love to you all,
