Dear Sol,
Mike and I so enjoyed getting to know you and Harriet. Mike would always come home and tell me if he saw the two of you along "his route". And I do not remember a time that he reported seeing one of you without the other. I think he felt that someday we would be like the two of you; married for many decades, and always walking hand in hand. Your love for and devotion to each other was a shining example for us younger couples. I can not believe that within such a short time both you and Mike are now gone. He was very fond of you both. You will be greatly missed by all of us who knew you.

Sol and Harriet moved in next to me in Tempe, AZ in 1981. Imagine them moving into an apartment complex littered with college students. I became "family" from Day 1, and will never forget the love that Sol and Harriet have shown to my wife and to me. As Harriet said, he was a "Wonderful boy". There is a song by Alan Jackson, called "Living On Love", it is about Sol and his bride of 60 years. Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote" The only way to have a friend is to be one." Thanks for being my friend, Sol. Go in peace.
