Remembering Rabbi as a real mench. Quiet and level headed using the right words when discussing thin with anyone. His family members were a big reflection of the type of person he was. May Rabbis neshama have an Aliyah and he be a melitz yosher for all of us. Ashira I remember you and your mom vividly.

Ha-Makome y-nachame eschem b-toche avalay Tzione v-Yrushalayim. I was very sad to hear the news and regret that I could not make the l'vaya or visit the shiva house. Uncle Shlomo's contributions to the Jewish people will live on for generations to come in his many students.

Baruch Dayen Haemet. All day yesterday, I had a horrible feeling, my boss explained it as the feeling of "impending doom", now, I understand why I felt so deperessed. The jewish community and west rogers park, as I remember it wont be the same without Rabbi Rapoport. I always think of him, when I think of ICJA, and going there in the early 70's. I'm sorry Ashira, Joe and their children moved from New York, but am glad they were in Chicago. My condolences to the families.

When I see the care and encouragement with which his daughter Ashira and her husband, Rabbi Joe, have raised their children, I know the caring home in which Ashira was raised. Her mother-in-law Eva has told me so many wonderful things about Dr. Rapoport. I am sorry I did not have the pleasure of meeting him in person. His memory will be a blessing to his children and grandchildren.

I was so saddened to hear about the death of Rabbi Rapoport, z"l. As one of his many Academy graduates, I was privileged to see his dedication to the school and his students. He managed to build a small institution into one of the country's premier Jewish high schools. My sympathy to Rebbitzen Rapoport, his children and grandchildren.
Fondly,
Regine Schlesinger Meisel
