My Dear Sister Sherri
A moment hardly ever goes by of not thinking of you. I love you very much, and I miss you very much, as I do mom, and dad and many other family members you are seeing. Sometimes I try not to think about you because I'm always sad. I Love you Girl Friend.

Around this time every year I always feel my sister Sherri's spirit. I miss her so very much. Every time I think about her there's always a tearful moment. I love you and miss you so much Sis.

I write this message for Sherri's family left behind who are surely still missing her. Not for her, because I have little doubt where she is! She fought for me, and influenced me to help others. Sherri was one of the most inspiring people I've ever met.

Missing you so very much.

Sherri was such a genuine person. There wasn´t a time that I was around Sherri and she didn´t make me laugh! Sherri also had a heart of gold, she was very kind. I will never forget her and she will always be missed. To Sherri´s family, I know there is a void in your life that can never be filled. Hold onto the memories of Sherri and she will always be in your heart. -- God Bless you all.

It is hard to believe that Sherri has been gone for six years. For all of us who knew her, she was a person whose kindness, love, and humor were infectious. To her family and her children, I know that there is a void that cannot be filled as I know you miss your mom, sister, aunt, and friend. However, her memory lives on through all of us and she will never be forgotten.

I would like to say that this was divine, that Sherri came to my mind/thoughts this week. How the Spirt of the Lord moves from North to South, East to West. I remember being with Sherri at Church of the South Side of Waukegan. It was a evening program. Sherri sang lead to a song, Victory is Mine. Now that's a Shout and a Halleluiah. Sherri will always be in my heart and missed.

I met Sherri when we both worked at the U.S.A. Recruiting Command at Fort Sheridan Ill. from 1980 until 1984. She worked as a Civil Servant and I was an active duty Army Soldier. We crossed paths numerous times in our daily work requirements, and it was surly my pleasure to have worked with her. She was one of the most pleasant people I had ever worked with. I also had the pleasure to work with her again 20 years later, and the only thing about her that seemed to had changed to me was the fact that she looked about 10 years older (smile). I had the opportunity to get to know her on a professional and personal level, and I will always remember her as a beautiful person, and of course her beautiful smile. I also had the opportunity to talk with her during her visit to Maryland and also during illness, and I am proud to be able to call her a friend that will be missed tremendously. Although its going to take much time for me, I am so happy that my aunt shared her light with so many people. Thank all of you for your kind words. It comforts us knowing that she was not just loved by family but her impact on others means a lot. Thank you.

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. I look back on all the good memories of Sherri and smile at the fact that I was able to share these times with her. Sherri will be deeply missed by me and she will never be forgotten. I am truly grateful for the friendship we shared. My heart and prayers go out to Sherri's family during this time of grief and I extend my deepest sympathies and sincere condolences.

To the Widermyre Family, Sherri had a very special gift that God gave her. I met Sherri at USMEPCOM many years ago. Everyone loved Sherri. I saw Sherri in Sam's Club not to long ago. We talk, we hug, we laugh, as if there was no tomorrow. We talked so long, her grandson had to bad her to go. That's the kind of person Sherri was. She was always giving. I thank God for the memories and the friendly relationship we shared. Her wonderful legacy will be with us forever. The family will always be in my prayers. I'm asking in each prayer the God will heal an bless you and keep you in His card.

I met Sherri over 20 years ago during the time when we were both active in the North Chicago School District. Sherri was a dedicated advocate for the children of the North Chicago. She was one of the individuals who fought diligently to institute the uniform policy for our students which still stands today. Sherri was a very kind person who always greeted you with a smile.

When you think of Sherri, you think of Love, kindness, happiness, and a heart of gold. She was unlike any friend that I've ever had and she made such a difference in every life that she touched. We would sit every morning at work with our coffee and laugh and talk. We would talk about God, family, politics, etc. There was nothing that she wasn't versed in. She was an angel sent to me. She welcomed me with open arms when I first came to USMEPCOM. It made me so happy. I looked forward to seeing her each morning. She was such an angel and a super friend. My heart is so heavy because I miss her so very much but I know that I will see her again. I will always have our memories and the joy and happiness that she brought into my life. My condolence to the family. Know that Sherri loved everyone and my love for her will always exist. I am so honored to have met her and honored to have had her as a friend and sister.

Sherri always came through my area with a big inviting smile and kind words. I use to call her by her first and last name to let her know that I knew who she was. Soon after that she started calling me by my first and last name to show me that she knew who I was. She only did this because I teased her about not knowing my name. Just a crazy little game we'd play but it kept our communication and friendship alive. A couple of years ago, during our Organization Day (Org Day), I realized what a beautiful voice Sherri had. She sang "Hello Stranger" by Yvonne Elliman on karaoke. It happens to be one of my favorite songs and she surely did it justice. Sherri I shall never forget you and you will continually have a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

My condolences to the entire family. Tianna and Ciara, I love you. In our last conversation Sherri said "I have to let go and let God." Rest well Sherri, rest well.

Sis. Sherri will truly be missed. When i first came to Lake Forest Baptist Church Sis. Sherri immediately showed me love and caring. Everytime i saw this beautiful queen she would always extend her arms out to me. Sis. Sherri will truly be missed. May God contiune to bless the family and keep them up in strength and prayers. I will truly miss my friend Sherri Widermyre. Not everyone gets the title "friend" but she was my friend. She had a beautiful spirit! On many mornings her and I chatted about life events, work, shopping, jewelry, cooking, our kids or grand kids. She provided me with sound advice on many occasions and told me "girl don't worry The Lord will work it out, just keep the faith!" I will miss her walking through the office humming/singing gospel songs and I will miss her leading the Happy Birthday songs when we celebrated Birthdays in J-1/Human Resources @ HQ, USMEPCOM! Sherri was also known to give 'high-fives' and say "alright girlfriend!" (smile) I am saddened that I won't be back from leave to attend Sherri's Homegoing, so I will remember her as I last saw her back in Mar/April 2014, smiling and full of life. I took several pictures of Sherri and attached one to share with her family. My prayer is that her family finds peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Widermyre family. Sherri is a blessed soul who's at peace now and we "Thank God" for the opportunity to have known her. Her cheerful spirit and smile will always be remembered. Family, please let us know if there's anything that you need from us other than prayer. Another Angel has went home to be with the LORD!. When Sherry learned of my father's passing, she immediately reached out to my family and brought food, prayer and support during our time of bereavement. Sherry even wrote and sang a song at my father's home-going service.

When Sherry heard of my father's passing, she said to me " God makes no mistakes, he is no longer suffering".

To Sherry's family, I impart those same words to you as Sherry is no longer suffering.

It is seldom that you meet genuinely kind and down to earth people.....But Sherry truly fit into that category. Not only was Sherry genuine, but she had a sense of humor!

Whenever I spoke to Sherry, she always had a message of the importance of serving God and the role that faith played in her life.

Sherry was a friend of my family, and embraced me as if I were her sister.
