Dear Babe and Nina,

It was our pleasure to know Seymour as our next door neighbor. We shared a love for tennis and happy times reminiscing about his tennis career. It was a thrill to be at the Northwestern dinner honoring him in 2000, where he was praised by Billie Jean King. He was a gentle and kind man, whose generosity and spirit we will always remember. Our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Sincerely,

Gail Krogstad

Dear Larry and the Greenberg family:

Your dad was an inspiration to me as I grew up as a young tennis player at Kerbis' in Highland Park. As a teenager some afternoons on the hard-tru in Lincoln Park, when I got to fill in (when Jerry Wexler was late to the game), were some of the best moments I have ever had on a court. Watching him play (and kibbutz!) with Grant Golden and Frank Parker was a huge treat I cherish to this day. So classy--elegant and precise. Seymour was always gracious and encouraging, a gentle man and a gentleman. Please accept my sympathies and best wishes.

Seymour was not only a great tennis player, but also an "icon" of a good sporstman. I had the pleasure to have met him and his dad when I first arrived to the United States in 1963 and we remained friends all these years.

Tennis will miss Seymour, but also he will be missed by the many good friends he had in his lifetime.
