Dear Father Lopez, As you 95th Birthday draws near Sept.9,2013. I want to wish you a Happy 1st Birthday in Heaven. The thought that my Daddy will give you a big Birthday hug from all of us is so comforting to me. We all miss your visits, you helped us all so much. Dios lo tenga en su Santa Gloria. Dear Fr. Sevy, We Love You and we will miss you so much , but we know you are now very close with the Lord , My Dad Louie Sr , and Roy Bautista and Father McPolin in heaven. My heart is heavy with the news of Our Father Lopez's passing. He was there as I grew up in South Chicago. And there when my parents passed away. He is a very special person. We will miss him. With Love and respect. The Garcia,Cornejo, and Rojas Families of South Chicago

We are so saddened to hear that our beloved Sevy has gone home. He was a part of our family and loved by all of us. We have so many wonderful memories of times spent with him, and most of all, he was such a great Priest, serving all with his love and compassion. Now he has earned his much deserved eternal reward. Dear Carmen and all,

We were so saddened to hear of our darling Sevy's death. He was always so full of Spirit and enthusiasm, I guess we figured he would always be with us. We are sorry that we can't be there with you in Chicago, but will certainly be with you in prayer and in Spirit. Sevy was an amazing man and a wonderful Priest. He served our Lord well, and we know his reward will be great in Heaven, where hopefully he will watch over all of us who loved him so. May you find comfort in all the memories you have. One of my favorite is the picture I have of him, so handsome on his horse. It always makes me smile.
