Our dear Sarah will be, and is, so greatly missed. She was my neighbor for 20 years, and like a mom to me after my own mom passed. She always worried about the neighborhood kids and provided my own grandkids with the famous raisin bread and cookies. She was a wonderful example of what a mom, wife, and grandma should be. I will miss her gentle nature and words of advice. Peace to you, Sarah.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your wife, mother, and grandmother. My dad, Carl Piazza, was Sarah's first cousin. Our family lived in Chicago so our visits to Chicago Heights were few and far between but I remember Sarah. What a lovely tribute to her, she must have been a wonderful person. Please express my condolences to Connie, Phyllis and Sam on the loss of their sister. My aunt Josephine Piazza Gullo, and Sarah were first cousins but could have been mistaken for twins, that's how much they looked alike. My grandfather, Joe, was the only Piazza brother who did not live in Chicago Heights but as a child I vividly remember our visits, usually for weddings, it was such a treat to visit. My aunt, Josephine, has lived in California for the last fifty years but I am in contact with her all the time. She is now 85 years old and is doing well. She lives with her son, Nick, as my Uncle Tony died over two years ago. She is the only aunt I have left. My Uncle Phil and Uncle George past away many years ago. My dad died 10 years ago at 86 and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I have two cousins in the Chicago area but they lost contact with our family more than 34 years ago. My cousin, George Piazza, and I kept in touch but he moved to Springfield over 18 years ago. We visited often but sadly, he passed away in February 2006. I called my Aunt Josephine and told her the sad news and the first thing she said to me is that how much Sarah and her looked alike. She sends your family her regrets. Our family is very small. I have a sister, Rosalie, and a brother, Joe. Neither have married. I am now 69 years old and have been married 48 years with three children and three grandchildren (the oldest 12). I have never forgotten my Italian heritage and still make cucitate cookies every Christmas. May all sadness you feel now be replaced in time with all the wonderful memories your family has of a wonderfull wife, mother, and grandmother.
With deepest sympathy,
Pat Piazza Walker
