Sarah Cashion Obituary

STATESVILLE -- Mrs. Sarah Frances Stewart Cashion, 77, of Cashion Farm Dr. Statesville died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Iredell County on July 22, 1926 to the late George Austin Stewart and Ella Dagenhart Stewart and was married to the late Joseph W. Cashion, Sr.

She was a member of Mountain Road Baptist Church. She was a seamstress and owner and operator of Jorona?s Fabric Shop and loved flowers and gardening.

Mrs. Cashion is survived by one son: Joseph W. Cashion, Jr. and wife, Frieda of Statesville; two daughters: Natalia C. Morrison and her husband Jerry Lynn, Sr. of Stony Point and Robin C. Morrison and her husband Larry Eugene, Sr. of Hiddenite; one brother: Thomas Newel Stewart; and six sisters: Hazel S. Schaffer, Margaret S. Campbell, Georgie S. Wagoner, Wallina Jo Stewart, Barbara S. Jolly and Brenda S. Broome all of Statesville; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Cashion Stewart; grandchildren: Lisa C. Gragg, Reuben Cashion, Jennifer C. Waugh, Allison C. Luffman, Sarah C. Cauldill all of Statesville, Angela Dawn Morrison Elder and Jerry Lynn Morrison, Jr. both of Taylorsville, Melissa Morrison Barker of Harmony and Gene Morrison of Hollywood, CA; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two sisters: Polly S. Bass and Mavis S. Davidson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Foxx and Rev. Wayne Riddle officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home from 7:30-9:00 and at other times will be at their respective homes.
