Sandra Braasch Obituary

Braasch, Sandra

Sandra Braasch passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Orland Park. Known to many as Sandie, she was a beloved mom, sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, and colleague. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, fun-loving spirit, and infectious smile.

Born July 15, 1947, in Chicago, Sandie was a lifelong resident of the southwest suburbs. More than anything, she cherished being a mom to Jason Braasch and embraced his wife, Claire Gaynor, as her own.

Sandie devoted her career to serving the community as a nurse at Palos Hospital. Even in retirement, she continued volunteering, especially supporting fellow cancer patients and their families.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 18 at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave., Orland Park, IL. Visitation from 2 - 4 p.m., service at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are welcomed in her honor.
