Samuel Wyman Obituary

Samuel L. Wyman, of Scranton, died Sunday.

Born in Glenville, Ga., he was the son of the late Samuel and Mathilda Wyman. A longtime resident of Scranton, he was known as "Cadillac Sam." He was a jack of all trades, working as a farmer, a contractor and before retiring, in the hospitality field. He loved to travel to Canada and was an avid fisherman and sportsman. He loved to tinker with old cars, earning him his nickname, "Junkyard Dog." Sam enjoyed the Old West, Western movies, country music and cigars, and he collected cowboy hats, giving him two more nicknames, "Cigar Sam" and "Cowboy Sam." He was always happy when he was driving either a Lincoln or a Cadillac. Sam will be deeply missed by his family.

His family would like to thank the hospice staff at Golden Living Care Facility for their kindness and service to their father.

Surviving are four sons, Sammylee and M.C. Wyman, Scranton; Ricky Wyman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Robert Miles, Scranton; five daughters Eulla, Winda, Lisa, Diane and Joanne Wyman, all of Scranton; a sister, Marguerite Wyman, Glenville; a brother, Mack "T." Wyman, San Jose, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Ave.
