We can´t believe it´s been 20 years since we lost you. We think about you every day. There is even a picture of you and Jack, and our microwave, so we say good morning to you every day. These years went by in the blink of an eye. We remember the day that you were born. You were such a beautiful baby. just remembering how you hated to touch the grass when you were a baby, makes me smile. When you went to preschool you were so shy. But after that, there was no stopping you. You were on the way to becoming the man you were a smart, loving, caring, sensitive guy, who loves his family, friends, and even animals. Dad was so happy when you started playing the guitar.He still has yours and plays it for you sometimes. we miss you terribly. We often think of what your life would be like now. Would you be married, would you have children, where would you live, what type of job would you have. Sometimes we feel you near us, maybe checking up on us. And FYI , we are still taking care of Apache , your snake and your turtle. They are both very senior citizens now. There is a saying:

So to all of Sammy´s family and friends, he will always be with us. We love you, son. Mom & Dad

Today is the 20 th anniversary of the day we lost you. So hard to even think it´s been that long, when to us , it is still so recent. We often think of how your life would be if you were still here with us. Would you be married , how many kids would you have, where would you be living , even what job would have been. We miss you so much.

Hey uncle sam,,.,its been a while...a long while, i really miss you..,I reminisce on the times that I remember with you...those were the days, turtle hunting, hanging out in my bedroom, just us having fun together....the day you left feels like yesterday. I hate to know that your gone because everyday i wish i could bring you back. Each day i miss you more and more, it kills me on the inside to know that your never going to come back. But I know that one day i will see you again. Me, mom grandma and everyone else really miss you. Sometimes i wish i could just talk to you one more time. Words cant describe the pain i felt when i had heard of what happened, the last thing i remember was us playing connect four at grandmas. I kept begging you for one more game, you finally gave in and decided to play another one with me. Then you had to go, i remember not wanting you to go, not because i wanted you to stay but I didnt feel right, i never forgot this feeling, i didnt know what it meant because i was little but i realize now. I really miss you man and i wish you were here because we would be the bestest of friends, the times were amazing while they lasted. Some say memories fade but ill never forget you Uncle Sam you were my favorite. Your best bud(nephew) jack

Today is the aniversary of you physically leaving us.I can't believe it has been 4 years now, but those are just numbers, they really don't measure time for us.We think of you always and remember more good times than the bad.Like going turtle hunting, or bike riding, you playing with Jack;and you would haved loved your new nephew Luke and niece Autumn just much as you loved Jack. I remember all the times you would come upstairs and Jack would be so excited to see you that he would squeal. it was so cute. and when you, Jack and me went to the canal and he found that tiny toad and we thought he would want to keep it but he said it needed to go back to its mommy. Its good to think about happy times with you because we did have many and will carry them with us forever and always. We still miss you very much and treasure our time with you even though it was too short. we love you, MOM AND DADDY

today we spoke about you for a long time, and exchanged stories about you from our school days until the moment you left us. we laughed and talked and felt your presence as we for some reason decided to mostly speak about our goofy times and your silly side and how not many others did not get to see your silly side. :) yes. your presence was strongly felt as we talked about you and how the corner bakery across the street from the art institute reminds me of you and how everyday things in our lives remind us of you. we miss you terribly.

i just want you to know, as you probably already do, i have been thinking sooo much about you especially in the past few days becuase it was your special day and just becuase I do not visit you as often, does not mean, i do not think of you, as you are always here with me. it is very difficult still to visit you. in that manner i do apologize that i cannot go, it just breaks my heart. but, i do know you are very busy in heaven, watching over many of us. love you always.i feel your presence vibrating within my thoughts and in my heart everyday and for that i am most thankful. i miss you.

I got to know you through the good friends you and my daughter Amy had become. Your parents should be proud as you were always a pleasure to have in my home. Not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind, no matter how many years pass. You were an incredible friend. There will never be another like you. You were one of the most amazing people that I ever met! Our memories are forever etched in my mind and heart. And I too have seen the butterfly, the day of the funeral and suddenly one always seems to appear when you are on my mind.

Sammy was a good kid and always will be remembered by many people. He was like a brother to me and its a shame he had to go but he will now rest in peace,god bless the Valdez family.

Sammy was a very important person in my life and meant so much to me. I love him and will always remember the memories we've shared.

I am very sorry to hear about Sammy. He was always a great kid through grammer school and High School. He will be missed. I will keep you in my prayers.
