Samuel Sims Obituary

Sims Jr., Samuel James Was born July 25, 1926 to the union of Samuel and Ophelia Sims of Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was the thirteenth of fourteen children and the last survivor of his immediate family. Samuel served in the Marines during WWII and in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Sam leaves to cherish a lifetime of love and memories: his wife, Gurnell; his sons, Keith and Bert (Elizabeth) and his daughter, Karen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Viewing July 11, 2013 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A.A. Rayner and Sons, 318 East 71st Street, Chicago, IL 60615. Service July 12, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church 8000 S. Michigan, Chicago, IL 60619. Visitation 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Service 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association on behalf of Samuel J.
