Sam - my love,
Tonight will be the first time in many years we won't be together on Christmas eve and wake up together in the morning. You always made Christmas wonderful for me - we shared such a calm and peacefulness at that time. I miss you greatly and will hold you close in my heart forever. I send you the 3 special kisses that were ours alone. I will always love you.
Your sweetheart, Ann

I met Sam at Ted Smith's office back in 1984. He has been in my life since then. Helping me and my family with our taxes. We enjoyed a day together last year going downtown to my son's for dinner. It was a wonderful time with a wonderful person. I will miss him.

At lunch last week we finally had a chance to sit down, away from it all, and discuss life, changes and what was going on with both of our lives. Your eyes lit up talking about baseball and what would have happened had you pursued a professional career.

For over 25 years you were there to give support to my family and advice to myself regarding my business ventures.

You were the one who always brought me back to reality to make sure I was heading in the right direction.

Your personality and experiences were one of a kind and we will all miss you dearly. Thank you for everything.

Dear Lizzie, Jessica and Steve,

I share your loss more than you can know.

Sam was a close friend a great adviser.

He was dedicated to his clients and friends and worked long hours for them. I could call him at 10 PM and reach him at his desk. At least until a few years ago.

He so enjoyed sharing in the success of his friends and clients.

Loving, kind, smart and unassuming. A truly great gentleman.

I worked with Sam for many years with one of his franchisee clients. I never met him in person and all of our dealing were by telephone, email, fax and letter. He was always sharp and responsive and I wll miss his collaboration. My condolences to his family and friend.

my deepest thoughts and prayers to his family, and the firm. sam will greatly be missed by our restaurant, owner and myself very much. i know even now he takes his numbers with him and hopefully finds time now to throw around the baseball and do some fishing. i will miss him very much and feel so honored to have learned so much from him over these last 10 years, and even though i know he is in a better place i can't help but feel a little selfish and wish that my greatest resource was still just a phone call away!

Dear Sam,
You were such a good friend to our family and support for Marjorie, Skip and me. I will always remember how you loved us all and took care of us. I loved our trip to Wisconsin when you shared where you grew up.
I will keep you always in my heart as a gentle, loving man who lived and loved with dignity. I will miss you deeply, but am richer for your presence in my life.

Our condolences to J'nett, Liz and Steve. Sam was very close to our entire family and will be greatly missed. He not only mentored us in our business but in our private lives as well. Not a day went by when we didn't learn something from Sam. We will fondly remember his being with us at numerous Blackhawks and White Sox games and telling us stories about his playing days with the Browns.
