I am so sorry to hear about Sam. He was my friend. I live across the street from him and I would always stop and talk to him. I would always see him running his errands and I asked him if he ever needed anything to ask me. I sometimes helped him. He would always tell me how much he missed his wife and son and especially how lonely he was. I will always picture him sitting in his yard smoking his cigars. It's funny, but I was walking past the other day and I did not see the lights and thought I wonder if Sam is o.k. because of the bad weather. I did not see his car out front, so I thought maybe he is with his family. I had no idea about this devastating news. I just heard about his death today. I feel so sad. He was a wonderful man. He had many stories. I know that he is with his beloved wife and son and finally at peace. I will really miss him. Walking past the house and seeing his little fishing sign will sadden me a great deal. I'm sorry again.

Thinking of my Dad and his brother when I was a kid. Chicago and being at my Dad's house and the laughter and fun of being with the Stamper family. My sympathy to the family for their loss.

I remember as a child, my brother and I eating ice cream at Uncle Sam & Aunt Caroline's house.
They always made us feel so welcome.
I am glad Dad had the opportunity to see Sam at Brian's graduation party, before he became to sick to leave home.
Uncle Sam will be missed.
Love-

Nobody could BBQ a lamb like you Uncle Sam and the joy you put into it. I will always remember those summer nights on Ontario St. sitting in front of your house and enjoying the stories you and my dad would tell and the laughter that would follow. You were a good uncle and a great father and husband to your family. You will be missed and may God Bless.
