Sam Soldano Obituary

Ive known my great grandpa sam for only ten years but it seemed like a whole lifetime. I miss you truly and will always be happy but inside i'll always have a little feeling knowing my great grandpa isn't here. You were at every single thing of mine i would look in front of me and see my parents but to the side i would always see you. But truly i love my name.....Sam named after you and so glad of it i would never regret it.Also because my whole family says i was named after him especially my grandma (mary). I love you grandpa sam and will miss you

Our Family was sad to hear of the passing of Sam. We recently found out from my Aunt Jean San Filippo . Sam was an example of a loving, caring, respectable husband, father, grandfather and great -grandpa.
We will always remember his happy, upbeat personality and smile. Also, Josepine, sorry to hear about your health issue. We pray that you get better soon.

This is Mike Krieger, I used to work with Sam's grandson Paul. I give everyone including Sam's daughter Mary and her son Paul,and daughter Bridgette my deepest, sincere sympathy!

This is Yolanda Hernandez from De Pere (Green Bay) Wisconsin. I lived across the alley from Sam and family, played Barbies with Mary Ann as kids. My heart goes out to Josephine and family. Brother Mike who sold Cubs parking spaces in the alley with Sam told me about Sam's passing last Friday. I was immediately taken aback. Sam was a presence in the neighborhood and will be greatly missed. Oddly enough, one of my last visits to see Mom Tina (still living across the alley), I had the joy of taking pictures of Sam & Josephine. Sam is dancing in heaven now...no doubt rooting for the Cubbies. But Sam did not have to wait for heaven to earn his "wings"...he was and is an angel here on earth...to keep us honest and smiling. Our condolences on your loss. The neighborhood will never be the same without Sam. He was the Mayor of Newport. We always appreciated how he kept an eye on our house. He made us feel safer. We will miss him. We will keep him and you in our hearts and prayers.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a dear and cherished man. Sam has been a part of our life & neighborhood from our very first day on Newport 40 years ago. All of us "kids" grew up under his watch, his care and his stories. To this day, it has always been a great comfort to look out our window or step out of our front door and see Sam standing guard for all of us in the neighborhood. His friendship, patriotism and honor will live in our hearts always. We already miss you greatly Sam and Newport will never feel quite right without you. We pray for you all. Jo,Greg,Mary and all the family,Sam was really one of my favorite people.Always kind,always sweet and always made me feel like part of his family.I will miss him and I will always cherish knowing him. Our hearts go out to you with all our love,Louise,Barrie,Kaylyn and Cole

He was a like father to all of the kids back in the neighborhood. He would watch over us, talk to us and scold us if need be. You could always count on him to be there. He will be greatly missed as will his great many stories.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. You talked to me like a father at times and my daughter as a grandchild. You had the heartfelt concern and sincerity of a loving caring person.
