France, Sam beloved husband and best friend of Fern (nee Berland) for 53 years, devoted father of Andrea France and Michael (Ellen) France, loving "Papa" of Jamie and Lisa France and Jenna Witkowski, brother of the late Irving (the late Jerene) France and brother-in-law of Melvin and Floss Berland. Chapel service Thursday, 12:30 p.m., at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbor UCLA Med.
