Ruth Michelson (nee Rachel) Shapiro beloved wife of the late Max. Loving father of Leon (Myra) Michelson, Belinda (Robert) Brock and the late Rena (the late Jerome) Bennett. Devoted grandmother of Steven, Douglas (Robynn), Randall (Tracey) Michelson, Tracey (John Kelly) Michelson Kelly, Deborah Moore, David (Stacy) Bennett, Laura and Max Brock. Adoring great grandmother of 12. Cherished daughter of the late Joshua and Betty Shapiro. Dear sister of the late Zvi, David, Rifka, Abshalom and Zalman Shapiro. Many loving nieces and nephews. Born on Simchat Torah in Israel to one of the founding families of Zichron Yaakov. Worked at the Art Institute for many years. Services, Wednesday, 11 AM at Temple Beth Israel, 3601 W. Dempster, Skokie, IL 60076. Interment Westlawn. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Kellogg Cancer Care Center, 2650 Ridge Road, Evanston, IL 60201 would be appreciated. My heart goes out to my second family the Michelson's. Gi Gi left this earth leaving behind a beautiful legacy. In each and every family member a part of her lives on. My husband John will always remember her wonderful stories of how when she was young in Israel, her family grew figs the size of your fist. She will be missed by all.
