Russ was a good guy. I worked with him on the Chicago Fire Department. He was my sewer guy for a lot of years. He will be missed.

I met Russ through my dear friend Billy Walsh, they were golf buddies. He brought his girlfriend in to the bar where Billy and I worked.. it was Georgia! We had gone to high school together (small world) He was a great guy with a contagious smile and I will miss him dearly. Hoping they are together again golfing as we lost Billy 2 years ago God Bless.

Dear Pat, Wendy and all extended family and friends, the Hoglund family shares in your sadness. We have had many fun times and created fond memories with the Long family. Georgia my heart breaks for you. As they say, it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Hold on to those years of great memories. I was always glad that Russ and Larry had the plumber's bond whenever we happened to be together. RIP Russ.

Russ always had a smile for me even when I brought flowers to decorate his table and he told me in no uncertain terms, "guys don't do flowers" - I'll miss you Russ

My heart is broken with sadness as I write this. Russ was a huge part of my life for the past 15 years. We enjoyed so many things together that now it will be very difficult to enjoy those things without him by my side. He is a great man and cared for so many people in his life. It is now time for you to rest in peace and for us to carry on your legacy by truly caring for others..
