I am saddened to hear of Rudy's passing. My father George Hackbarth spoke often and fondly of their friendship and professional collaboration on the Manhatten Project at Los Alamos during the war. I did get to meet the Vergoth family at his daughter's wedding many years ago.

My sincere condolences to the family, it is a tremendous loss.

I regret never having had a chance to meet Rudy. My father in law George Hackbarth told many stories about their time together in WWII, and I was fascinated by their work at Los Alamos.

My condolences to all who knew and loved Mr. Vergoth.

Goodbye, Rudy. I was eight years old when we first met, and you were 16. You were so friendly and nice to a young kid, and you have been the same every time I saw you.

We are so saddened to hear of Uncle Rudy's death. The first thing to always come to our children's mind regarding Rudy was his handling of the corn at the annual Vergoth picnic. The last time I talked to him he spoke extensively about his

experiences at Los Alamos. He will always be remembered for his humor and gentle ways. Rudy often stopped at our house in Eveleth with his friends for a meal with Mayme and Joe before going up to Canada to fish. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Vergoth family

Our father George Hackbarth has spoken fondly of Rudy many times over the years, recalling their service together during World War II at Los Alamos. He was (and is) grateful for Rudy's friendship and technical partnership during those unique times. Vaya con Dios.
