Ruby Ware Obituary

Ware, Ruby Jean (Greathouse) was born on February 20, 1930 in Fort Payne, Alabama. She was the fifth of eight children born to the late Lonnie and Elder Willie C. Greathouse. Ruby relocated to the Waukegan area in 1951 and began working "down the line". Soon after she gained employment with Abbott Laboratories where she worked until she went out on disability. Ruby quietly made her celestial transition Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at her Waukegan home after a prolonged illness. Ruby leaves in God's care her children, Jacqueline Giggetts of Waukegan, Illinois, Roger Tompkins of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, one goddaughter, Bettye Burton of Zion, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Dewatha Greathouse of Waukegan, Illinois; two grandchildren, one great grandchild; four nieces Rebecca (Lance) Hunt of Waterford, Michigan, Vanessa Greathouse and Celester (Willie) Rodney, of Waukegan, Illinois, Sarah (Garnell) McAllister of Beach Park, Illinois; two nephews Duane Garrett of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Gregory Garrett of Rockford, Illinois and a host of great-nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Moriah Christian Center Church, 524 10th Street, Waukegan, IL. Bishop Solomon Smith, Officiating. Entombment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Cemetery, Zion, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
