Roseann Christophersen Obituary

Christophersen, Roseann 61, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Community Hospital from complications of breast cancer. Born in Chicago, IL, Roseann was a life-long reader and her final generous act was to be an Organ Donor. Her gift will help two people read and enjoy their lives more fully. Roseann attended and graduated from Nativity B.V.M. grade school, Maria High School, and received her BA and MBA from De Paul University in Chicago, IL. She always supported the Sisters of St. Casimir Retirement fund, and appreciated the fine education and values imparted by the Sisters. Roseann spent her professional career in hospital administration, and was Vice-President of Operations at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, IL. She and Andy came to Florida in 1997, and Roseann achieved a life-long goal of getting an art degree. She graduated from USF and enjoyed visiting the local Art Museums. She enjoyed collecting antiques, and crocheted blankets for the Linus Society. Roseann and Andy were married for 35 years, and were a loyal and dedicated couple. To family and friends alike, Roseann was supportive, kind, and had a generous sense of humor. Roseann, you will be missed every day of our lives. Roseann is survived by her husband, Andrew, sisters, Katherine (Neal) Logue and Carrie (Dennis) Brooks, brother-in-law, Michael (Patti), sister-in-law, Karen (Hugh) Lacey, and nephews and nieces. A Memorial Mass will be held for Roseann on March 16, 2010, 10:30 a.m. At St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 8320 Old C. R. #54, New Port Richey, FL. 727-372-8600. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Komen for the Cure or the Sisters of St. Casimir Retirement Fund, 2601 W. Marquette Rd., Chicago, IL 60629-1817.
