Rose Knautz Obituary

Knautz, Rose A. Native of Chicago, passed away April 27th, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents Anna (Kovarik) and Joseph Motyka. Beloved wife of the late Francis (Fran C.) (1984), loving mother of Dr. Robert (Mary Sue Buberl), Washington D.C., Ronald (Gloria Sue Michael), Pekin, IL. and Roger (Wanda Diane Brouwer), Park Ridge, IL. dearest grandmother of Keith (Ellen), Karlyn (Thomas) Hoffmann, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Jillian (Phillip) Fox and Jonathan, delighted great-grandmother of Justin, Nathan and Brandon Knautz and Dennis Hoffmann, cherished sister of the late Charles (the late Irene) and the late Joseph (Laurretta) Motyka, fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knautz worked as a secretary, a grocer and banker (Bank of Lincolnwood) for more than 60 years while raising three sons and traveling frequently often with Hawaii as a special destination. Rose and Fran were married April 16, 1936. Both were graduates of Austin High School. Both took college level courses before operating two neighborhood groceries. Mrs. Knautz was a life long member of the Order of the Easter Star and the Rebecca's Lodge. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Chicago, Medinah Shrine Widows Club and Forest Glen-Mayfair Kiwanis Club. Visitation Sunday, April 29th, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467 N. Northwest Hwy. (1 blk. north of Devon), Chicago, IL. 60631. Funeral service will be at Olson Burke/Sullivan on Monday, April 30th at 10 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to service. Entombment at Acacia Park Cemetery, For information call: 773-774-3333.
