I am so very sad to have lost Rose Ann so soon. I am thankful that I was able to "gift' so many of my friends with Rose Ann's beautiful art work and calligraphy. I enjoyed every visit to the house and always came away with not only a piece of art but with a lovely thought, a beautiful idea , some original Torah ! She will always be present in her artwork and in the memories of those who she taught.

I am still reeling from the shocking news of Rose Ann's petirah. She was a great student, and friend who modeled temperate intelligent giving behavior in and out of learning settings. Her passion for discovering truth, combined with her creative way of distilling her perceptions into art were treasures that seem lost in the mists of grief.
May her family gather the stength engendered by the memory of her nobility in suffering and her Ahavat Yisroel to experience a comfort in Israel

I knew Rose from Young Israel of West Rogers Park. It is such a shock to lose such a vibrant woman. We will all miss her. Best wishes to the Chasman family. May you be comforted among the mourners for Zion and for Jerusalem.

I firsr met RoseAnn 31 years ago when several of us "recuited" her to give a talk on being an observant Jewish woman in 1970's America. I marveled at her intelligence, her articulate way of speaking and her ability to balance herself between Jewish tradition and the delights of modern America. Later on we saw each other at the Egalitarian Minyan and then at various events and simchahs in the Chicago Jewish community. She was a gifted artist and scholar and life-long learner and had a marvelous sense of humor. What a loss! May her example continue to be a light to us all. And may her extended family be comforted among the mourners of Jerusalem.
