My Heart goes out to the Lewis Family.
Joy and Horace Jr.,know that your mom was so very proud of you guys. She made sure to mentioned you all on a daily basis. Mrs. Lewis was my division teacher for four years and I must say that some days were hard for us back then. I think we all know now that each of those days taught us a new lesson. Mrs. Lewis was full of life lessons. She was very strict about girls acting like young ladies and boys acting young men. This is something that's truly missing nowadays. I would like t thank Mrs. Lewis for all that she has taught me over the years- Class of 1989

Dear Horace Sr, Joy and Horace Jr,

Rosalind was a very special person in my life and I wanted to share some memories of what made her so unique. Not only was she was one of our high school English teachers, but she became a surrogate "mom" and friend as well. She welcomed us students into her home, drove me to school and even let me use her car on occasion (very brave lady). Rosalind really encouraged us to make the most of opportunities before us; did not hesitate to correct us and loved us despite our flaws as teens growing up in the 1970's. She inspired our generation w/her wit and courage and generous spirit. She had such a passion for young people and made a difference wherever she was. May God's peace and comfort give you strength in the days ahead.

Blessings,
Denise Domingue

I worked with Roz for over 20 years and, although, we would butt heads from time to time, I always knew that she was a person of high integrity and strength and a good friend. She was the "go to" person at Marshall..Anytime there was a problem everyone was told "go to" Ms. Lewis. She was strictly a "by the rules" person and the students never understood that, and they complained like crazy, but they would always come back to visit with her after leaving high school. Marshall High School and her children were her life. Many times, I urged her to retire, but she would just say "what for"..and I know it must have broken her heart to finally do it. To Joy and Horace, I was so sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sure she will be welcomed with open arms in Glory!

To my Family, words can't even began to express how sad I am at the passing of one of my Mother's best friends and sister......... I remember when Joy and Horace were born, and how much happiness they brought to her life. Rosalind was a wonderful person and this world will be just a little more sad without her here. I know her and my Mother are in heaven having a great time, talking like they used to. We will see them again, but for now my heart is heavy, because I miss them sooooooooo much!!!!!

My sincere condolences are with you all. Rosalind was a bright light of the teaching staff at Marshall High. A very courageous woman who gave her all to her profession. I know of former students who still sing her praises for her teaching and no nonsense attitude. I considered her a dear friend.; and I rejoice knowing that her's was a job "WELL DONE"

To The Lewis Family,
Those we love must someday pass
Beyond our present sight ...
Must leave us and the world we know ....
Without their radiant light.
But WE know know that like a candle,
their lovely light will shine ...
To brighten up another place ...
More perfect, more divine.
and the realms of Heaven,
Where they shine so warm and bright ,
Our loved ones live forevermore ...
In God's eternal light.
May Our Heavenly Father continue to bles you and give you the peace that passes all understanding.
Love
