Rowan, Ronald D. age 69, suddenly, retired 28 year U.S. Army Reservist, loving husband of 48 years to Cecilia (nee Mazur), cherished dad of Cynthia (Douglas) Hoffman, Carol Cuello, Rosemarie (Gil) Hernandez and Susan (Tom) Micele, loving grandpa of Patrick, Erika, Christopher, Thomas, Mark, Maria, Brandon, Jessica, Nicholas, Allyssa and Taylor, dear brother of Floyd (Maria), Beverly (late Donald) Welch, Eileen (Bill) Jones, Leona (Edju) Jender and the late Patrick (Anna), uncle of many nieces and nephews. Member of the 710 Pioneers Club, Rainey Park Woodshop and retired 30 year employee of ANR Freight. Funeral Saturday, 9 a.m., from the Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd., to St. Alexander Church (7025 W. 126th St., Palos Heights, IL) for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 2 to 9 p.m. 773-767-4500.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Rowan family. Ron was a great guy. I served under him in the Army Reserve. We had a lot of good times together. He was a character and a good man and will be missed.
