Ronald Livorsi Obituary

Livorsi, Ronald R. formerly of Hoffman Estates, IL., Born in Chicago on April 1, 1938, Ronald passed away suddenly on May 2, 2006 in his home community of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Ronald was a long-time employee of Bovis Lend Lease, retiring in 2003 as Vice President and Principle in Charge of the Mid-Atlantic Region of a Global Alliance between Bovis and Britsh Petroleum. Ronald held a variety of management positions both domestically and internationally during his career with Bovis, including assignments in Chicago, London, England, Barcelona, Spain, New Haven, CT, Omaha, NE, and Towson, MD. He worked on several notable projects during his tenure in Chicago, including McCormick Place, Baxter Healthcare, Chicago Park District, Sears International Headquarters, Chicago Public Schools, and the Art Institute of Chicago. After his retirement, Ronald formed Aarel Consulting and provided a variety of professional services in the construction and capital maintenance industries. Ronald served his country in the National Guard after graduating from Austin High School in 1955, and then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, studying Architectural Design. Ronald enjoyed his many professional and social memberships including: former member of the Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings, past Commander of the Fox Valley chapter of the United States Power Squadron, former member of St. Hubert Catholic Church, and member of local chapters of the Triumph Motor Car Associations in the communities in which he lived. Retirement was a rich and rewarding time for Ronald and was filled with the activities he loved most, including woodworking and home improvement projects, golf, roller blading, and visiting with his family. Ronald lived life to the fullest every day, and he will be dearly missed by all who shared his friendship. Loving survivors include his parents, Sam and Florence (Haase) Livorsi of Tempe, AZ, formerly of Elmwood Park, IL; daughters Deborah (Roger) Mealy of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Kimberly Ann Matz of Hoffman Estates; grandsons Chris Mealy and Kevin Mealy of Cincinnati, OH; and known as "Tiny Grandpa" to grandsons Henning Matz V and Eric Matz of Hoffman Estates; sister, Donna Gallo of Streamwood; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Ronald R. Livorsi will be held from 5 to 9p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30p.m., on Monday, May 8th, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 330 Golf Road, Schaumburg. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9th, at St Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. We were classmates in Austin High School, and I have fond memories of him. I am glad he enjoyed a rich and fulfilling life. My deepest sympathy to his family.
