Ron Told you what was on his mind and he had a good sense of humor, he used to send me jokes via e-mails. you never knew what to expect, but you knew you were gonna laugh. I always meant to visit with him but never could arrange it
That is How I found out about his death, I was going to be in Michigan, and decided to give him a call to see if I could visit with him

Our deepest sympathy to the Larson family on the loss of your father. It was a total shock to hear of his passing. He was a GREAT friend to Rick. They had each others backs. The jokes they use to play on each other, the laughter you'd hear from them will be missed. Ron was a guy you could count on for anything and wouldn't want anything in return but friendship. One good man that will be missed around the lake!! RIP Ron.

Ron has been a good friend for over twenty years to Cathy and I, we first met Ron when we lived at Twin Lakes. Ron was always full of information, wisdom, and a good dose of B.S.
We just found out Ron was sick, then he was gone!

Ronda, Robert, Rick and Maria,
We want you to know how sorry we are for the loss of your dad. For the past 16 years, Ron has been the best neighbor and friend anyone could ever ask for. We had prepared a tribute and thank you for him, but he left us too quickly. I am thankful he did not suffer and I know he is at peace. Thank you Ron..... for being Mr. Fix It... for cutting grass, fixing swing, pedal boat, pontoon boat... thank you for using your wood working talents to make us a picnic bench, rocking horse, shelf, flower baskets... thank you for saving us from the middle of the lake numerous times.... thank you for all of the great pics you took of the kids... and then printed out with your fancy printer...thank you for always, always looking out for our safety... thank you for your color commentary on any Sox and Bears games... we never had to look at the tv to know who was winning... we just listened to you! Thank you for keeping us up on the "goings on" of the lake community. Thank you for EVERYTHING. I hope you know that we cared about you as much as you cared about us! You were everything to us at the lake, and WE WILL MISS YOU BEYOND WORDS!!!!! We are happy you did not suffer long, and I believe heaven is even more beautiful than your view from your recliner! Until we meet again... love you!

Dear Rhonda, Robert, Rick and Maria,

I am sooo sorry at the loss of your dad. He was the best neighbor and friend we could have ever asked for. For 16 years, he took such great care of us, and became family to us in Michigan. I truly do not know how to be at the lake without him. I want you to know how much we all loved him. The following is from one of the posters we made that we never had the opportunity to give to Ron. He is in our hearts forever....

TOP TEN PLUS REASONS THE JONES FAMILY LOVES RON:

10. Helps us with everything! (Matt)
9. Ron is AWESOME!!!! (Colleen)
8. Your woodworking talents! (Picnic bench, rocking horse, shelf, flower basket, address numbers...) (All of us)
7. Mr. Fix-it... Blow it up.... (Swing, pedal boat, inflatables, etc, etc...) (all of us)
6. Saving us from the middle of the lake numerous times! ( Maureen)
5. Giving us play by play information about Sox and Bears.... by your "expressive" commentary during the games coming from your house! ( Tim and Maureen)
4. Doing all of our yardwork and upkeep; and more... helping to catch critters! ( Tim)
3. Taking AWESOME pictures of our kids, adding your own touches and printing them out for us! (Maureen and Tim)
2. Allowing all access use to that awesome pedal boat! ( Timmy, Matt, Colleen)
1. Keeping us up on all of the scoop around the lake! (Maureen and Tim)

PLUS.... All of those colorful emails!!!!!
PLUS...Calling us when anything seemed wrong with our place
PLUS... Inviting us in for a few beers...
PLUS.... Coming to get me and my friend and all of the kids during a wicked storm..... ALWAYS, ALWAYS looking out for us!!!!!!
PLUS.... Teling us where to go for the best meat, the best fruit, the best farmstand, etc... etc....
PLUS.... Telling us where to sit for the best view of the fireworks.... no matter which lake they were on...!
PLUS.... many, many, many more reasons. !

Ron loved his family, loved his home, his apple trees, his flowers, and his lake. Ron did sooo much for us and looked out for us always, until the end. WE love you Ron! Thank you for everything!!!! We will miss you beyond words...

My deepest sympathy to the Larson family on the loss of a very special man. Visiting my frien's cottage with my troop of kids was always easy when Ron was around to untagle fishing poles and inflate all the inflatables. Ron cared enough for guests that when the siren went off he was there to guide us to a basement. Ron was agreat guy to know and it sad to say I only saw him once or twice a year. My kids and I will miss you Ron.

My thoughts and condolences to Ron's family. I ment Ron thru the Dowagiac Moose many years ago...what a character he was! We had many a good laugh together and many a beer together at the Lodge. My life and that of many other's will not be the same without Ron around to tell jokes and generally be the rascal he was, you will be missed my friend!

One of the best parts of my sister's house at the lake was her neighbor! Throughout the last 16 years, Ron towed us off the lake, created beautiful wooden flower baskets for us, took many incredible photos of my nephews and niece, and provided us with hours of pure entertainment! A true original, Ron always had something funny to say about any topic; we especially enjoyed discussing the Chicago Bears! My email inbox will never be the same; I was never sure what to expect from Ron. Like him, his emails were very interesting and usually pretty funny. It was a pleasure to meet his children, as well! Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. I will miss Ron; I know that there is a lake in Dowagiac, Michigan that will never be the same without him.
