Roland De Mark Obituary

My memories go back to our growing up years, meeting all my cousins at the little cottage in the north woods, a magical time to grow up and such a privilege. Sharing stories, playing games, picking berries and the never ending on going croquet games.
Such a warm and gentle man. A real gem.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family As you say goodbye to your dad and grandfather. Wish I could be there with you. Thinking about the many memories I have a times with the family. Dee was a wonderful brother-in-law and a true gentleman. Glad I had the opportunity to celebrate his 90th birthday with him and talk to him before the Lord called him home. Roland, I miss all those wonderful rounds of golf we played together. You are my great friend. Thank you for preparing, and hosting those fine pasta dinners. I have so many great memories of us sitting on your back deck and sipping cold beverages. You are dear to me...you will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Thank you Roland for all the good times. You were such a joy.

My condolences to the De Mark family, Roland was a special man, he welcomed me into his home with a hug and smile and of course a glass of wine and the best corned beef and cabbage ever...always such a gracious host my forever date!!! May you rest high on that mountain!

Roland was a treasure. He became part of our golfing 'family' at Highland Golf Course in Conyers, Georgia. Even though Roland was in his 80s he refused to play from the white tees. Nope, old pugnacious Roland demanded to play fron the back blues with the 'young' guys. We threatened to cut him out of the bets, yet he never relented. Roland had some problems with his distance vision, so after every tee shot he would say, "where did it go?" We told him to just drive down the muddle if the fairway because that is where his tee shots always wound up. Roland was a great host of the 19th Hole Clubhouse off the 11th green. Many good memories there. When I think of Roland DeMark, it will always be with a smile.

Grandpa will be missed, there are many things that will be missed,but I'll never forget grandpa Hollering at us kids, I love you grandpa rest in peace with grandma

My heart goes out to all of you! I have so many memories of Roland over the course if my life. Im so grateful to have been able to see him one last time a couple weeks ago. He loved and was loved by many!
