Roger Breit Obituary

Jamiel and family:

Sorry for your loss. We go back a few years because I remember him as he coached my three boys through little league baseball. We are all so sorry for this loss. Dorothy & Family

Roger was one of my coolest cousins. He introduced me to rock n roll dancing and the Beach Boys! He always treated everyone with respect and had a smile for all of us. I regret that we did not keep in touch more in the later years. We always think we have more time than we do here on earth. I will always cherish the memories I have of him. We were all blessed to have been a part of his life.

I will always remember Roger for his love of sports, coaching, and Thanksgiving day in Evanston watching the football games. He was a great man and will be missed.

Roger, we will miss you. The so many car rides, we shared as a kid with you, the famous station wagon, that took us to the basketball games, the camaredie, that we enjoyed, the mentor that you were to us, lovingly remembering you as a great friend and coach. I have so many fond memories of Roger that I cannot think about him without smiling. He always had a smile for me even as he teased me while we were kids growing up. He was one of my favorite cousins that I always looked up too. I hope that your fond memories of Roger will bring a smile to your face and help you through these difficult times.

Im so sorry for your loss. Roger was a mentor to me. I will never forget all of those years he coached us in basketball and football. I still remember his expression when we won the championship in Chicago on that rubber basketball court that we all though was so strange. I remember finally scoring a basket on the final game in the fianl seconds. Im 39 now and those stupid little things last forever in your mind. I hope you all the best.

I so proud to have been had Roger be a part of my life. He showed all of us not only the joy of the game, but the life lessons he taught us will be with me forever. He was like a second father to many of us. I will never forget the wonderful things he did for me. I know that I am a better person for having had him as a coach and mentor in my life.

To Roger's loved ones: When you are with someone you love so much over the years, I believe you mutually absorb their very essence. I know this because my wife of 40 years died last year and I still feel her spirit in me. And as horrific as the event of her death was to me, I came to realize that we were both extremely fortunate to have had the life we did. So many never have that wonder. May you come to realize the wonder that you all had with Roger. To you all: strength, courage and patience.
