Johnston, Rodger John

Rodger John Johnston, age 86, of Aurora, IL, formerly of Crete, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Paula Johnston; loving daughter, Vicki Buchanan; cherished grandchildren: Kristine Young and Deven Buchanan; dear great grandchildren: Tyler Young and Carsen Buchanan.

Preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Othelia Johnston; son, Philip Johnston and sister, Charlene Copeland.

Rodger was born in Chicago Heights, IL. He graduated from Bloom Township High School and worked as a Certified Auto Mechanic until retirement. Rodger loved being part of the Antique Car Club. He proudly owned several antique cars. He also enjoyed motorcycles and would ride often. Rodger was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He and Paula were longtime members of Living Creek Christian Church in Monee, IL. Rodger will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Skyline Memorial Park & Crematory (24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL) Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 P.M. Pastor Randy Roberts officiating. Inurnment Skyline Memorial Park. For information please call 708-534-8256.
