Dear Giampietro family,

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of my godfather Rocky. My mother and father, Nancy and Frank Alianello, were good friends with Rocky and all grew up in the old Grand and Ogden neighborhood. Even though I had not seen him for quite a number of years I know my mother kept in touch with him from time to time and there were still irreplaceable bonds from those early days. I am honored to have been part of a beautiful tradition in the Italian culture and to call Rocky my godfather. My deepest condolences to you Joann and the entire family. May God bless you Rocky. My fondest memories of Rocco was how much he loved baseball. Every summer you could count on him at Hiawatha Park watching the kids ball games and telling stories to my boys about the Cubs back in the day. God bless and prayers to the family.
