Dear,Grandpa
Grandpa I love you very very much and if you reading this from up above i want you to know it is from the heart. I always used to love the way you made em laugh, I love all the tricks that you used to fool me with, I love the finger one the most oh you got me all the time. The handshake one that made me feel like i was strong got me a little giggle all the time. I just want you to know that i will always love you heaven and back. and i want you to know that when i have kids i am going to show them the tricks you fooled me with and tell them how great of a man you really are. Grandpa i love you very very much and i want you to know the time is near for me i am going to you and grandma for all the good luck.
I love you Grandpa

My folks bought their (3rd) house on Kenneth in 1972. Not soon afterwards I met Mr. Wendling for the first time washing his car in the alley. What a great guy. Taking away from his task at hand to show me his new set of wheels and explaining the pros and cons of keeping a car or trading one in for a newer model.I would always strain my neck when I would see one of his cars sticking out into the alley. Hoping that he was out there as well so I could get a few words of wisdom from such a great man. As a friend and a neighbor to my Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters, Mr. Wendling you were "The Best of the Best" Condolences from the Lally Family and Thank you for your Service to our country.

Mr. Wendling was a very nice, caring, and all around great guy! He could always boost your spirits with good joke. He was always willing to help. He was a great neighbor and friend to our family while living on Kenneth and a great support and help to my Mom after my Dad passed away. My fond memory of Mr. Wendling is that he always used to call me "Baldy von Wahlde" in the summer when I got a crew cut when I was eight years old or so. I will miss him. The Wendling Family are in my prayers.

I agree with Kathy S. The neighborhood was close and Mr. Wendling was always there to help. I remember that he was a great carpenter. After my Dad died he would help my Mom if she needed it. He is in a better place and I know that he is happy to be with his wife, Norma. God bless him!

Mr. Wendling was a great neighbor to all especially to my parents. Our parents all moved onto Kenneth Avenue at the same time in the late '50s and just a wonderful sense of family remained on that block for over 40 years. I have such fond memories of Mr. Wendling especially when he helped my dad build a ramp for my mom in 2002 and when I was visiting my dad back in 2003-2012. Mr. Wendling was wonderful to talk to.
