"Bob" age 77, of North Riverside, formerly of Berwyn, Korean Army Veteran, former owner of Bob's Food and Liquor , Bob's Office Restaurant, Downers Grove Travel Agency and North Riverside Service. Beloved husband of Della Svoboda (nee Griffith), fond father of Gale M. (Paul) Foster, Jo Ann (Mario) Cavaliere, Joseph R. (Lisa) Svoboda and Robert A. (Darlene) Svoboda Jr., dear grandfather of Rebecca Zacha, Elizabeth Foster, Jena Cavaliere, Jacqueline (Latimer) Le Marier, Mario Cavaliere Jr., Samuel Svoboda, Michael Cavaliere, Mitchell Svoboda, Allison Svoboda, Jeremy Svoboda and James Svoboda, great-grandfather of Christopher Cavaliere, Alisia Le Marier, Emilia Zacha, Jayden Cavaliere and Tyler Le Marier, brother of Lorraine Svec, uncle of many nieces and nephews, long time friend of National League Umpires. Visitation Friday, May 1, 2009, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 2, 2009, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield. It is with a very heavy heart that I try to convey how much "Uncle" Bob has meant to my life. How many fifth graders have taken the helm of a 42 foot yacht on the Chicago River? Cubs games... Sox, Bears and Blackhawks... Notre Dame football... Disney World and the Atlantic Ocean... and later a very understanding boss (How many fenders did I dent?). So many new and wonderful things opened up to a child and young man's eyes. I am ever so grateful and so very truly honored to have been able to call you "Uncle". You shall be truly and deeply missed for you just cannot replace a true one of a kind. With love and deepest sympathies.... Art and the Rus Family
