O'Byrne, Robert J.

Robert (Bob, Bobby) J. O' Byrne was born July 10, 1955 and welcomed home on May 30, 2024 surrounded by love. While an unapologetic Southsider, Bob was also always proud of his start as a West Sider. Here he developed life long friendships. He is a graduate of St. Edmund's Catholic School, Fenwick High School and

University of Illinois at Chicago and spent his career at the Chicago Board of Trade. An avid Chicago sports fan, he was a season ticket holder for the White Sox and enjoyed bringing family and friends to the games. But his true pride and joy were his three children Kevin, Kim, and Steve. He loved watching them play sports, spend summers swimming in their pool, and being able to share in all that life brought them. He is also a proud Grandpa Bob to Will, Bryan, Nora, Bree, Vinnie, Baby Vari, and Autumn. Being with them was his favorite thing. Bob was always making things interesting, whether creating a new game for the holidays, sending cards without regard for the holiday they were meant for or dreaming up new adventures such as the Family Pub Crawl. His contagious laughter, sharp wit and deep pride for those he loved will be missed beyond words. Bob will be greatly missed by Leeann O'Byrne, Kevin (Lisa), Bryan, Nora O'Byrne, Kim (Mike) Bree, Vinnie, & Baby Vari. Sisters, Patsy (Lou) Edelis & Terri (Vince) Kennedy. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and wonderful friends and co-workers. He was welcomed home by his son Steve O'Byrne, grandson Will O'Byrne, parents Bob and Vicki O'Byrne, sister Mary Elizabeth Loudin, niece Maureen Stewart and others of the O'Byrne/ Dwyer Family. For those reading this Bob would want you to remember to live life to the fullest and Go Sox! He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:30am with services at St. Christina Catholic Church 3342 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655. Please arrive at Curley Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to proceed to Mass. With a viewing on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home 6116 W 111th St, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415.
