Bob was a good cousin-in-law and most importantly, a great friend to me. Always available and generous with his time and advice -- even after a tiring day of work. I miss him.

My condolences to the family. Bob was a great union man. He put his time in and really cared about the future of the 1185 local. A leader of men doing the right thing for many years. We do appreciate all he's done.
At my mothers wake he gave me a hugh and said this sucks. We all feal the same way now.

Pops has been like a dad to me. He has been with me (and Donny) through some tough times and has always provided a lot of support. I am going to miss him very much...

To The Family of Bob Newell;
Having worked with Bob for almost 30 years, it was definately an experience I will remember. While we sometimes did not agree on certain things, I know that he always had the best interest of the members and the union in mind at all times. I truly belive that if his health had been better he would have kept working for a much longer period of time. Our best to the family, and remember all of the good times everyone had together.

My condolences to the family of Robert Newell or Bob as most of us called him.
I was priveliged to serve on his Executive board at Local 1185 for 18 years and to have known him for over 40 years as a friend and mentor. His contributions to our Union were many and important and his loss to his family and his Union is immense.I was priveliged to see him last at my wife's wake last December and he seemed to be in good health and spirits, and this was so sudden that I pray that there was no time for suffering. My uncle Robert was one of the greatest men I've ever known. He was an amazing brother to my mom (Linda or "Winnie") and the best uncle I could have asked for. I'm blessed to have known him.
