Robert McCaffrey Obituary
McCaffrey Sr., Robert William 53, of Covert, died Thursday, March 23rd, at his home. He was born November 11, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Eileen A. (Devereux) McCaffrey. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Patricia Callaghan on December 23, 1996, in South Haven, Michigan. Robert worked as a truck driver for several years. He loved animals and kids. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter McCaffrey who died in 1998 and a brother, Raymond McCaffrey in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Trish McCaffrey of Covert, Michigan, five sons, William, Martin and Raymond McCaffrey all of Chicago, Illinois, Brendan and Robert McCaffrey Jr. both of Covert, Michigan, two daughters, Jennifer Howard of New York, New York and Tiffany McCaffrey of Covert, Michigan, his mother, Eileen A. McCaffrey of Chicago, Illinois, two brothers, Thomas McCaffrey of Velvedere, Illinois and Martin McCaffrey of Chicago, Illinois, two sisters, Margaret (Edward) Sergo of Island Lake, Illinois and Karen (Phillip Sr.) LaPalermo of Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday, March 27th, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, 269-637-0333. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Dear Tom, Marty, Karen, Marge&Ed and Mrs. McCaffrey;
I can't tell you how sorry I was to read about your loss of Bobby. He was always really nice to me at a time when most older brothers would just beat the crap out you. All you guys are in my family's thoughts and prayers. Tom or Marty please give me a call some time and let me know how you guys are doing. I am so sorry for your loss. I never met your brother, Karen, but I read about this in the Trib (good Irish person that I am)..(and a McCaffrey at that), and I am saddened at the loss of such a young man. RIP.
