It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert S. McCabe (Bob), age 82, who died on March 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He is now at peace. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maria, and his two children, Eric (Ellen) and Katie.

Bob was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on March 12, 1942, to his late parents Harry and Marion. Bob is an only child.

He lived his life with joy, honesty and pride. His first job with Price Waterhouse launched him into a successful career as an internal auditor where he was known for his leadership. He was admired and respected by his staff and those he audited He enjoyed traveling and going to restaurants. He never forgot a good meal or where he dined. After retirement he was known for his prolific back yard garden where a variety of vegetables were nurtured. He was also an avid genealogist tracing his family back to the 1600's. He was truly the most interesting, fun-loving and devoted husband, father and friend.

Visitation will begin at 10 am followed by Mass at 11 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Mary of the Woods Church, 7001 N. Hiawatha Avenue, Chicago, Il.
