You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Bob has been a friend for more years than we can remember. From our railroad days to retirement. We have had some great times with him, especially when he would put our kids in place using his knowledge of the law. From going out on his boat to just sitting around our trailer. He was a friend we found when we were young and cherished as we got old. Together thru thick and thin, good and bad times, sickness and health with both our families. We will always love him, never forget him and will miss him terribly. With all our love Bennie and Barb

We are very sad to hear about Bob's passing. Your father was an amazing man who loved to play practical jokes on us Philippsen kids, such as taking us to jail, and handcuffing us and leaving us in the car. We had great times swimming at his house with dogs, going out on the boat and having him help us trick our parents. He always treated us as one of his own and we could always turn to him as our cop "father" if we needed him. He always watched after us. It was great to see him at our sister Karen's funeral last August, and we're so glad we got to get one of his bear hugs 1 last time. We are glad however that his suffering is over and he is now home and look forward to seeing him there someday.
With our love

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Bob has been a friend for more years than we can remember. From our railroad days to retirement. We have had some great times with him, especially when he would put our kids in place using the fear of the law. From going out on his boat to just sitting around our trailer. He was a friend we found when we were young and cherished as we got old. Together thru thick and thin, good and bad times, sickness and health with both our families, just like a marriage. We will always love him, never forget him and will miss him terribly. With all our love Bennie and Barb

I would like to express my deep sympathies to the Keating Family. I first met Bob when we were both assigned to Area Four Task Force. He was a gentlemen then and he stayed at gentlemen to the day he retired. Bob always looked out for me. I will never forget that. Thanks Bob
May you rest in Peace

Bob Keating's stature reminded me a little of my own father, and like my father, I remember him reprimanding me when I was wrong, but I also remember when my gun was stolen from my luggage in the Detroit airport, I went to him. He sat me down and helped me do all the paperwork correctly, because guns and helping police officers were his expertise. That was about 15 years ago. Funny what we remember about people. May he Rest in Peace .......... from an 8th district alumni.

Bob was the finest Detective I ever worked with at Area Four Homicide. He led the way and we followed. He knew no fear and inspired us all. I will miss his presence greatly as will all others who knew him.
