Robert James Obituary
Robert R. "Bob" James Sr., 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 24, 2023.
Devoted husband of the late Shirley James. Loving father to Susan (Mickey) Brown, Patty (Greg) Carns, Carol (Mark) Sheehan, Margaret (Terry) Henry, Bobby Jr (Denise) James and Ray (Jeanne) James.
Cherished Grandfather to Nicole (Jim), Mark (Chrissy), Michael (Katie), Matthew (DeeDee), JR (Sara), Jason (Brittany), Jaclyn (Tom), Cailin (Jon), Ray (Kylee), Morgan, Bobby, Kelly, Jack, Tony and Brooke (Aron) and Great grandfather to 15.
Dear brother to Annie Oaks and proceeded in death by the late Wanda, Nina, Edna, Linda, Charlie, Carl and Jesse. Fond brother-in-law to Darlene (the late Jesse) James, Butch (the late Linda) Regan and Arlene Hodges, uncle to many and friend to all.
Lifelong resident of Canaryville, had a proud career for the Chicago Water Department and member of the Knights of Columbus and Flags Club. He valued time spent with his family and had a true love for country music.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the (MDS) Melodysplastic Syndromes Foundation would be appreciated.
Services at McInerney Central Chapel, 4635 S. Wallace Street, Chicago, IL 60609 on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 3-8 pm. Funeral Monday, August 28th, 2023 9 a.m. at Funeral Home, to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Church. . Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois.

Sue I am soo sorry for the loss of your Dad! I know how much you loved and cared for him, and he did too!! But no more pain and suffering! Now he can rest in peace!! Prayers for you and your family!

I only met Bob one time. He came down to Madeira Beach with Nicole and Jim.As we talked by the pool it became obvious that this was my kind of old guy.I must admit I am 84. We both worked at the water dept. for a long time. We talked about mutual friends and told stories about some of our experiences in the "OLD" days. By the time we left I knew i had met a good man. Our condolances to Nicole and Jim.
