Army Veteran, beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Phillips), loving father of Robin (Bob) Surdey, Laura (Roy) Coan, Pam (Duane) Grist and Bob (Teresa), dear grandfather of Jason and Erin Surdey, Jared and Zac Coan, stepfather of John (Cheryl) Roeters, Margaret "Smidge" (Ron) Campo and Mary Beth Roeters, step-grandfather of Max, Nathan, Ben, Heather, Jill and Matt. Memorial visitation Monday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Leukemia Society appreciated.
