Robert Jacobi Obituary

Jacobi, Robert C. "Bob" age 79, of Addison, passed away June 19, 2004, at his home, after a short illness. Robert was born September 27, 1924, in Chicago, the third son of William and Louise (nee Kreft). He married Vera, (nee Arnel) and were blessed with 2 children before their unfortunate separation and divorce. He was later united in marriage to Mary "Mae" Ebenroth, the love of his life and best friend, in July of 1963. Together they moved to LaGrange Park where they lived for 12 years before moving to Addison. Robert loved the outdoors and spent many enjoyable hours fishing and hunting with family members. He especially enjoyed the game of Golf and playing with numerous friends. Bob was a member of River Forest Country Club and joined Golf's elite ranks with a hole in one in August of 2003. Bob was a graduate of Washburn Trade School and worked in the Tool and Die Business, eventually starting his own companies. He achieved much success with Monogram Engineering. Roberts Die and later Industrial Properties. Bob was a true gentleman and respected businessman. Robert was beloved husband of Mary "Mae" Ebenroth, loving father of Robert (Debbie) Jacobi of Stanford Montana, Linda Jacobi of Arlington Heights and Juliean (Neil) Kijek of Lockport; proud grandfather of Mandy, Jamie, Connor, Kurt, Kyle, Kelsey, Darrell, Penny, Victoria, Gregory, Rebecca and the late Matthew and great-grandfather of Ava Zahn, dear brother of the late Charles and George Jacobi, fond uncle and great-uncle of many. Visitation Tuesday, 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:15 a.m., until time of funeral 9:15 a.m., at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Rd. (½ mile North of Saint Charles Rd.), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., at Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Addison. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 580 Waters Edge, Suite 100, Lombard, IL, 60148.
