Robert Holliday Obituary

Holliday, Robert Duncan Patterson "Pat" 87, U.S. Navy 1949-1953 Korean War veteran. Beloved husband of the late Stella Rose (nee Bava) Holliday; loving father of Robert Patterson (Linda) Holliday, The Rev. Frances Marie (Eileen M. Flynn) Holliday, and the late Alicia Cora Holliday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cora Holliday and his brother, Joseph (Sarah) Holliday all of Nashville, TN. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pat was a proud graduate of McCallie Boys School in Chattanooga, TN; he earned his B.A. from the University of Georgia. He worked for the Illinois Department of Public Aid for 31 years. Pat was active in a number of civic and community organizations. He was a Scout Master, Past President of the Kiwanis Club (Oak Park Chapter) and a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. Pat was an avid reader and a walking encyclopedia, a film buff, world traveler, a gentle spirit and a great husband and dad. Family and friends are to gather for the Funeral on Thursday, May 19, 2016 directly at Church of Our Saviour, 116 E. Church St., Elmhurst, IL 60126, for a one hour Visitation 10:00 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to be celebrated promptly at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Crucifixion Garden Mausoleum.
