Robert Gorney Obituary

Gorney, Robert age 54, passed away on Friday, September 11th 2009. Robert was born in Chicago, Ill on October 4th 1954. He and his wife Lucille moved to Phoenix in 1982. He is survived by his four brothers, Gregg, Dennis, Donald, Danny, and one sister Diane, his daughter Linda, his grandson Ryan, along with his 10 nieces and nephews. The love of his life, Lucille Gorney, preceded him in death to prepare for his arrival in heaven. Robert fought a long, hard five year battle with cancer. He touched the heart of every doctor, nurse, caregiver, and person he met along the way of his battle. Robert had tremendous love for his family and friends and will always be in our hearts and in our memories. A Celebration of his Life will be held on September 24th, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Saint Josephs Catholic Church located at 11001 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85028. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.

Our condolences to the Gorney family on the loss of your dearest Robert. Your loving care of him especially in the last year is an inspiration to all families. Although the last few years have been difficult especially the loss of his beloved Lucille our dear sister, we will always remember and cherish the many happy funfilled times spent with them over the years.

Dear Gorney Family,
Please accept our most heartfelt condolences. Nolan, Shannon, Keely, and Xavier always speak so lovingly about their beloved Uncle,and Great Uncle Robert . We are sure that Robert's guardian Angel gently guided him into the arms of our most precious Savior Jesus Christ. Please be comforted by all the loving memories you have of Robert, and the knowledge that he now has eternal joy. We will keep Robert in our daily prayers always.
