Dr. Freeark was a very intelligent surgeon. I heard him speak at Grand Rounds when at Loyola, and his depth of knowledge on a rare medical disorder was quite impressive.
He helped train my mentor and friend, Dr. Thomas E. Murphy, while at Cook County Hospital.
Rest in peace, Dr. Freeark. God bless you and your work.

My sincere condolences to the Freeark family. I worked in the Department of Surgery at Loyola from 1977-1996 for Drs. Pickleman and Baker during Dr. Freeark's Chairmanship. He was a wonderful Chairman, educator, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his fellow medical colleagues and all that new him. May God bless you and your family during this time of sorrow.

Bob was a friend from a long time back. Cook County Loyola were our mainstays. He was a real professional and a Surgeon-- "par excellant."

I'd like to express my sympathy and condolences to the Freeark family. I started my internship at the County Hospital the year Bob became the first full time Director of Surgery (1958) And what a great program it was. Our paths crossed from time to time afterwards, the last time being "The Last Grand Rounds" at the old County Hospital, the Grand Old Lady on Harrison Street. God bless your memory, Bob, you were one of a kind.
In admiration,
Robert R. Briney, M.D.
